Always Be Comedy evening - 8pm 22 January

Updated: Jan 18, 2022

The very funny and extremely lovely comedians Mel Giedroyc, Isy Suttie, Kerry Godliman, Ria Lina & James Gill are doing a gig to raise money for Ruby's fund with Children's Cancer & Leukaemia Group.

Comedian, actress, presenter and all round superstar Mel Giedroyc has been a regular on our telly for the last 25 years, from Light Lunch with Sue Perkins (back in the 90s) to presenting Great British Bake-off, commentating on Eurovision and most recently appearing in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special.

Comedian, actor and writer Isy Suttie played IT geek Dobby in sitcom Peep Show, as well as appearing in Damned, Shameless and Man Down. She recently published her debut novel, Jane is Trying, and has a wonderful podcast called the Things we do for Love. Isy lives in Gipsy Hill, not far from Ruby's family, where they moved not long after Ruby died. She heard about Ruby and her motto and wanted to do something to help. How lovely is that!

Actor and comedian Kerry Godliman is a regular on Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo, Taskmaster (winning the seventh series!), Just a Minute & more.

As an actor, Kerry stars in the wonderful hit Netflix series After Life and has also had roles in Derek, Call the Midwife and Save Me to name just a few.

Ria Lina is a British comedian, actress, and writer. She is known for her appearances on Yesterday Today and The Day Before, Mock the Week and Have I Got News for You.

Ria also has PhD in Viral Bioinformatics and previously worked as an IT forensic investigator for the Serious Fraud Office!

Comedian & journalist James Gill will be our MC for the evening. James launched the popular comedy night Always Be Comedy in 2011, which has continued to prove a huge hit throughout lockdown, having featured on BBC News, Sunday Brunch, Lorraine, the Guardian and much more.

You can buy tickets here (scroll down to 22 Jan).

All proceeds go to Ruby's Live Kindly Live Loudly fund with Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group, to fund blood cancer research.
